Legume (Pea) Family

A bushy perennial with three rounded wedge leaflets and yellow pea-like flowers. Some Baptisia were used as a substitute for true indigo dye. Grows up to about 3 ft. tall--blooms in summer. photo--June 21, 2004 Henderson Cnty.
